Mitch Arend.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

Mitchell Arend was born in 1985 and is second in the list of Other People when placed alphabetically. Growing up in small town Napanee, Ontario he quickly discovered a love for telling stories that entertain. This interest in imaginative, visual and auditory storytelling soon led to a devotion to film – the healthy mix of all three.

Arend studied film at Ryerson University, graduating in 2007. He has directed and produced several films screened in festivals around the world including Drei Schluck Kaffee (2005), which is still featured in rotation on Movieola, Vigilante (2007), winner of the Young Cuts Repage by popular vote, and Fanfare (2008).

Beyond directing and producing he is an accomplished Sound Designer, receiving an HSBC Young Filmmaker Award for his work on the stop-motion short Even With The Thunder Gone (2007).

Arend lives in Toronto in his one bedroom apartment with no pets that he is aware of.
